Palm tree trimming is its own job, and in South Florida it is a big one. Palms are everywhere in Miramar, and they drop fronds and seed pods all year. Dead fronds hang under the canopy and come down heavy, and in a storm they turn into projectiles. We cut them back before that happens.
There is a right way and a wrong way to trim a palm. The wrong way is over trimming, cutting off green fronds that the tree still needs. A palm that is over trimmed gets a weak crown and a skinny trunk, and it is more likely to snap in a hurricane. We take the dead and dying fronds, plus the seed pods, and leave enough green for the tree to stay healthy.
Coconut palms and royal palms are the big ones we trim most. Royals get tall and hold a heavy skirt of dead fronds, and those come down in big sheets when the wind hits. Coconuts drop seed pods and actual coconuts that can damage a roof or hurt someone standing below. We get those cleared before storm season so you are not picking them out of your screen enclosure afterward.
Height is what drives the price on palm trimming. A short palm we can reach with a pole saw is one job. A forty foot royal that needs a bucket truck or a climber is another. We price per palm based on height and how many dead fronds are hanging, so you only pay for what your palms actually need.
We clean up and haul off every frond when we are done. Palm fronds are bulky and they fill a truck fast, and that cleanup is included on every job. You are not left with a pile of debris in your driveway.
